part of sunflower series.  i’d like to paint them once more before they die. watercolor and india ink.

Saw the mind-blowing work of Meredith Monk and wanted to share the video of her collaboration with Ann Hamilton.  Songs of Ascension is performed in Ann Hamilton’s 18-year-in-the-making tower. Tonight, she lectured, sang and showed a few video clips of her choreography. Beyond the visible aspects of her work, she manipulates sound waves in a way that acts somatically and makes presence necessary to the complete reception of her work.
